Useful Windows Software (open source)

• 7-Zip - The only compression tool you'll ever need. (LGPL)
• Notepad++ - The text editor I use whevever one is needed. (GPL)
• Inkscape - SVG image creator (GPL). I've used this for icons and for more elaborate flow charts or designs where dia (win) wasn't sufficient.
• AstroGrep - For searching through files on windows (GPL). Fast and shows matching lines of code.
• Frhed - Hex editor for those rare times I've needed it (GPL).
• XML Copy Editor - Sometimes you need something more than a text editor for specialized file types, like XML (GPL).
• Scribus - Desktop publishing (GPL).
